Digital X-Rays

At Sulens Dental, we use digital x-rays to deliver safe and informative dental care.

Dental radiographs are a key part to diagnosing dental needs and screening for disease conditions while in their earliest forms. Both dentists and hygienists utilize the information on these images to determine the way they provide quality care, as well as, identify abnormalities such as tumors, bone loss, or other pathology. Most of these conditions would be completely undetected if x-rays were not used.

Digital x-rays are useful for identifying the following:

  • Dental abscesses
  • Cysts
  • Periodontal disease
  • Tooth decay
  • Eruption patterns
  • Tooth development

Having radiographs on a routine basis can save you treatment procedures and be a great investment in your smile!

What to expect with digital x-rays:

Digital radiographs use up to 90% less radiation than traditional forms of dental x-rays. Although they are still considered extremely safe, Sulens Dental Studio utilizes lead aprons to protect vital organs during x-ray exposure. The frequency of x-rays depends on the individual needs of each patient. In most cases, a full mouth series or panoramic film is taken every 3-5 years, with bitewing x-rays taken every 6-12 months.
